A live trace, not a picture of one — but this preview is not interactive. Open it in the canvas to move things, change parameters, and save or export your own version.

In the real world

Labels explain component roles, operating conditions, and the assumptions behind a diagram. Keeping interpretation beside the relevant hardware helps readers distinguish measured parameters from illustrative choices.

In OpticalSetup

Place a text label and double-click it, press Enter when selected, or use Edit text to edit on the canvas. Markdown supports headings, lists, emphasis, and code; web and DOI addresses become clickable links. The font-size and color controls set its base appearance.

The example demonstrates several formatting styles. Keep a short explanation beside the setup and use a link for longer background material. Text grows from its left anchor, while resizing changes the base font size.

Simplified vs. reality

Text is diagram-only and never changes traced rays or scene parameters. Writing a wavelength, efficiency, or model claim in a label does not configure the corresponding optical element.
