Detector screen
Shows the live readings of a linked detector on the canvas, with sensor-specific views and a data cable that never changes optical propagation.

A detector's readout electronics turn its electrical output into numbers or plots. A display shows the information measured by the connected instrument; a cable to the display is a signal connection, not another optical path.
In OpticalSetup
Select Sensor input to link the screen to a detector. Available views follow that sensor's capabilities, and the display adapts its information density to its drawn size. The cable carries data only: moving the screen or routing its cable across a beam cannot attenuate or deflect the light.
The example links a screen to a power meter behind a neutral-density filter. Change the filter transmission to change the reading, then move the screen to see that its position has no optical effect.
The screen does not measure light itself or add properties absent from the linked sensor. It models no electronics noise, cable delay, or acquisition hardware.
The pulse entry shows the duration that arrives: dispersed where the duration model answers, Unavailable where it declines, and the source's configured duration only where no model applies, such as a mixture of trains. Before this, it always repeated the configured duration, so a screen on a setup with glass in the beam now reads a different, dispersed number.
